Dr Husbands’s Philosophy

Dr Husbands is committed to providing the best care for his patients. His clinical practice is grounded in the following:

Addressing the underlying causes of the illness or disease

Dr Husbands believes that health care or medical care that addresses the underlying causes of the illness or disease is the means to provide the best care for his patients. By taking care of the underlying causes of the illness or disease, the symptoms and complaints disappear as a consequence. More importantly, the patient’s health is restored and health span is prolonged. He thinks that health care that focuses on addressing symptoms by merely managing them or masking them is not health care, but rather sick care.

Treating the patient not the disease

While working towards taking care of the underlying cause may take time, he considers what is best for his patients, including providing pain relief treatments or remedies, and giving them practical advice on implementing diet, nutrition, exercise and lifestyle changes. He supports his patients’ efforts to achieve their health goals.

Knowing that the human body functions as an orchestrated network of interconnected systems rather than individual systems functioning autonomously

With this in mind, he is able to see the correlations of the patient’s complaints and symptoms. When a body system is dysfunctional, he understands potential effects on associated body systems. This is very beneficial financially, and results in better quality of care and promotes the patient’s health span. For example, a female patient, who gets treated for a gastrointestinal problem, finds that the treatment also worked to resolve PMS or infertility. It’s like buy 1, get 1 or more free!
